Get down to deepest Dorset this Easter at the Fox Inn, Ansty

Isn’t it funny how Easter always seems to herald the true beginning of Spring, and not the meteorological one that appears to start just before Winter’s last big huff and puff.

This year, Easter is late – 16th April (how do they work it out, and who?) but Spring still seems to be gearing itself up to bring us some beautiful warm weather with clear blue mornings and fresh sunshine stretching the days.

It’s also one of the longest Bank Holiday breaks from work we get in the UK, so it is perfect for a recharge of those jaded batteries and some time away from it all . . . except that is easier imagined than the reality.

Firstly, everybody had the same idea (strangely) so there’s the motorway madness to cope with, but at least you know when you finally arrive you’ll be getting away from it all . . .

Really? All those people on the road – they were going to the same place as you. Or the one next door. Or the park across the road.

Meanwhile, here in the heart of Dorset, we are truly off the beaten track. You’ll need a map to find us, but when you do, you’ll realise we are in a secluded paradise, with grand scenery and countryside views purpose-built for heavenly walks. Those people on the motorway missed out. Here you can properly recharge far from the madding crowd, as one of our most celebrated ancestors famously put it.

And in Ansty, Spring has already arrived as lambs and bunnies find their way around the fields and hills, breathing new life into our quiet corner of Dorset.

So why not treat yourself to a super last minute break this Easter. We would love to have you, you can bring the dog if you want to, and if you fancy being smug for a day there are loads of touristy things to do a short drive away with our special welcome back at the end of the day.

There you go, a whole blog about Spring without using the phrase ‘Spring is sprung’!
